Guidelines for CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 Case Competition

We are glad to call residents, fellows and specialists dedicated to the treatment of Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) to participate in CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 Case Competition. The competition is open to healthcare professionals who specialize in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, angiology, interventional cardiology and other related fields 

CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 Case Competition includes both POSTER and PRESENTATION awards: applications shall be submitted by e-mail to science@imithi.it not later than February  13, 2026. 

ABSTRACTS
submission requirements

Topics should focus on one or more clinical cases directly managed by the authors. Topics may include, but are not limited to:  

  • Distal Revascularization and Foot Perfusion

  • Innovative Approaches for Calcified BTK/BTA Lesions: IVL, Scoring Balloons, Atherectomy

  • Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO): Strategies and Success Predictors

  • Access Techniques for Complex CLI Interventions (Antegrade, Retrograde, Pedal)

  • Decision-Making in CLI: When Not to Revascularize

Format 

  • Abstract shall be in English;
  • PDF format;
  • The text should be clear, concise, and limited to 250 words. It shall not contain the names of companies or of specific devices. 

PRESENTATION
submission requirements

Topics should focus on one or more clinical cases directly managed by the authors. Topics may include, but are not limited to: 

  • When Bypass is Not an Option: Endovascular Rescue in Surgically Exhausted Limbs

  • Troubleshooting Pedal Artery Revascularization: From Failure to Flow

  • Revascularization in the Presence of Infection and Severe Tissue Loss

  • Salvaging Failing Endovascular Treatments: Reintervention Strategies and Outcomes

  • Below-the-Ankle: Extreme Distal Revascularization for Limb Salvage

Format 

  • Presentation shall be in English; 
  • .pptx format; 
  • 10 slides max.; 
  • There should be no references to company names or medical devices; 
  • Submissions must include a detailed description of the clinical situation, the treatment provided, and the outcome; 
  • High-quality images and/or videos should be included where applicable. 

Abstract and Presentation submission method

  • Abstracts shall be submitted in .PDF format as an attachment via e-mail to science@imithi.it not later than February 13, 2026;
  • Presentations shall be submitted in .PPTX format as an attachment via e-mail to science@imithi.it not later than February 13, 2026;
  • Abstracts and presentations must be sent via email with the subject line: "CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 Case Competition - NAME SURNAME";
  • In the body of the e-mail, please include:
    • your specialization;
    • affiliation (hospital, clinic, university);
    • contact details;
    • any potential conflicts of interest.
  • The e-mail shall clearly indicate the name of the presenting author, who will be considered the contact person for all correspondence connected with the submitted abstract/presentation;
  • For large files, we suggest including a WeTransfer link.

Selection Process

  • The conference Scientific Committee will evaluate the submissions based on their clinical relevance, innovation, and outcomes; 

  • Finalists will be notified not later than February 27, 2026; 

  • Selected authors will have the opportunity to present their poster during CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 poster sessions OR present their case-based presentation on the stage of CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 in front of an international audience; 

  • The conference audience will vote for the best poster and best presentation in terms of clinical content and presentation skills; 

  • The best poster will be published on CLI-C’s website and on social media channels; 

  • The author of the best presentation will be awarded with an educational grant to attend CLI-C GLOBAL 2027. 

Registration

  • Authors of selected cases for either stage or poster sessions will receive a discount code to register for CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 for free; 

  • Authors whose submissions are not selected will receive a discount code to register for CLI-C GLOBAL 2026 at a significantly reduced Opening Fee; 

  • All authors must complete their registration by March 13, 2026, or the discount will be forfeited; 

  • Please note that travel and accommodation arrangements are not included and will be the responsibility of the attendee. 

Deadlines

  • Deadlines for case submission: February 13, 2026; 

  • Notification of Selection: February 27, 2026.; 

  • Deadline for discounted and complementary registrations: March 13, 2026.
